SHARIF GALAL X DJ GALLEON - Suite Grooves Vol 1
Two veteran selectors with decades of combined experience have joined forces to deliver a three-track digital release that captures the essence of their upcoming club night. Sharif Galal, the Triple J legend known for The Groove Train , teams up with Brisbane's DJ Galleon(Mitch Medcalf) to present Suite Grooves Vol 1, a carefully curated package designed to send bodies into dancefloor motion.
The release opens with "Take A Trip (Rephrase Remix)" , which finds Australian breakbeat maestro Rephrase (Jaime Olsen) transforming the original into compelling new flavors. His touch adds layers of complexity while maintaining the funk-driven foundation that makes the track so effective. The original "Take A
Trip" follows, showcasing the duo's vision with crisp percussion, clavinet flourishes, Hammond organ warmth, and wah-drenched guitars that bring an hard-to-resist groove.
"Flip The Script" arrives with a tougher breakbeat approach that mixes Western and Eastern elements. Built around the traditional Egyptian folk tune "Samah El-Nouba" (meaning "Forgive Us This Time"), the track alternates between muzmar and rababa sounds
and growling synthesizers, creating dynamic tension that'll make dancers take notice.
Both Galal and Galleon bring serious credentials to this collaboration. Galal's encyclopedic knowledge spans from his early days spinning in Alexandria through his influential Triple J tenure, while Galleon'sversatility across disco, Afro, house, and breaks has made him a fixture in Australia's club scene through projects like Chat Noir and Boogie Knights.
